For efficient installation and improved connectivity, the new switch comes with an orange LED indicator to ensure the switch is positioned optimally in relation to the cylinder magnetic ring, and a green LED power indicator. Improved switching capabilities with IO-link communication technology allow monitoring of current temperature, maximum temperature, cycle count, and operating mode variables, facilitating preventive maintenance and maintenance of equipment.
"Our new generation of magnetic switches provides the ideal solution for the connection needs of industrial automation, making installation easier," said Simon Gass, Global Cylinder Product Manager, IMI Precision Engineering. "By adding standard IO-link technology to existing state of the art capabilities, cylinders and sensors can play an active role throughout the system, transmitting optimal data, condition monitoring and system performance information."
IMI Norgren M/50/IOP makes accurate installation easier and keeps the orange LED light on when the switch is in the optimal position. If the switch is at the edge of the magnetic field, the indicator will blink, causing attention during installation.
Simon Gass concluded, "The inclusion of IO-link technology in our market-leading switch design demonstrates our commitment to industrial automation. We take great pride in understanding our customers' needs and market changes, so we launch products that support our customers' businesses and industries."
